Concert for the Blind Summer 2022
Returning from a 2-year hiatus, the Hirst Brothers delivered one of their best concerts to date. The band had plenty of at-home time to prepare for their next show, with a goal of improving their show for the guests. This show saw pre-recorded and arranged backing tracks, in-ear monitoring and a pre-determined set list. For the first time, the concert felt like a real show and less like a basement jam session.
In the prior months, Johnny spent countless hours recording, arranging and producing a custom set of backing tracks featuring horns, piano, background vocals, etc.. to ensure each song was able to reach the full potential. “There’s only three of us and some songs can’t be done with just a guitar, bass and drummer - so we stepped it up.” says Johnny.
With professional help from videographer Vic Placido, and live sound engineer David Veldman, the Brothers were able to perform their show knowing that the resulting footage and audio would be far better than they’ve ever achieved. Having the ability to mix, master and produce higher quality videos means that much of the show will be captured and documented forever.
The concert featured a jam-packed setlist of crowd pleasers, including two original songs written by the Hirst Brothers. Of course, the show had to include a special feature from the Hirst Brothers best-friend and top-supporter, Marcus Burns, who performed a medley of Sweet Home Alabama and All Summer Long.
Many of the songs will be posted to YouTube and can be viewed on the Hirst Brothers YouTube page (access below)
